Buildcrex is a Nigerian construction and home-services marketplace that connects clients with verified providers (builders, electricians, plumbers, tilers, etc.) using secure escrow payments. We also operate a marketplace where vendors sell building materials and tools. All payments are protected — money is only released after the client confirms satisfactory completion.
Yes. buildcrex operates across all 36 states and the FCT. When you post a service request, you specify your state and LGA, and we match you with providers in your area. The marketplace ships nationally via our logistics partners.
Yes. Creating a client account is completely free. Providers and vendors are also free to register and go through the KYC/onboarding process. buildcrex earns a small commission only when a job is completed and escrow is released — you are never charged upfront.

Escrow & Payments
When you accept a provider's quote and make payment, your money is held in escrow by buildcrex — it is not yet available to the provider. Work begins only after a service contract is signed by both parties. When the provider marks the job as complete, you review the work and confirm completion. Only after your confirmation is the escrow released and the provider paid. If you have concerns, you can open a dispute before confirming.
We accept payments via Paystack — debit/credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Verve) and bank transfers. All transactions are processed in Nigerian Naira (₦). We do not accept cash payments for escrow-protected jobs.
Yes. Because your payment is held in escrow, you never lose your money if a job is not completed. If you are unsatisfied:
1. Do not confirm job completion.
2. Open a dispute from your job dashboard — explain the issue and attach evidence.
3. Our admin team reviews the dispute and makes a resolution. If ruled in your favour, your funds are refunded to your buildcrex wallet.
Refunds to wallet are instant upon admin resolution. Wallet withdrawals to your bank take 1–3 business days.

buildcrex charges a small percentage commission on the provider's payout when escrow is released. This fee covers platform operations, payment processing, fraud prevention, and dispute management. The exact percentage is visible on each quote before you pay. Clients do not pay any extra commission.
Providers
Register for a free account, then visit Provider Requirements and click Apply to become a provider. You will be asked to submit your KYC documents (government-issued ID + proof of address) and your area of specialisation. Our team reviews applications within 1–3 business days.
You need:
- Valid government-issued ID (National ID, Driver's Licence, Passport, or Voter's Card)
- Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement — no older than 3 months)
- A clear photo of your face (selfie)
When the client confirms job completion, escrow is released to your buildcrex wallet. From your wallet dashboard you can withdraw to any Nigerian bank account. Withdrawals are reviewed and processed within 1–3 business days.
Service requests are matched to providers based on your registered service categories and location. You receive a notification for relevant requests and can submit a competitive quote. Clients can compare multiple quotes and choose the best fit.
You can submit a dispute with evidence of completed work (photos, videos, work updates). Our admin team will review the evidence from both parties and make a resolution. If the work is deemed satisfactory, escrow will be released to you.
Clients
Go to Services, find the service category you need, and click Request this service. Describe your project, add your location, attach photos if available, and submit. Verified providers in your area will send you quotes within 24–48 hours.
Yes. Once a provider submits a quote, you can use the in-platform chat to discuss project details, timelines, and site visits before deciding whether to accept the quote and make payment.
Yes. After payment, buildcrex generates a digital service contract based on the agreed scope of work, timeline, and amount. Both you and the provider must sign the contract digitally before work can begin. This protects both parties legally.
Marketplace
The marketplace sells building materials, tools, and construction supplies from verified vendors. Products include cement, tiles, electrical fittings, plumbing materials, paints, roofing materials, power tools, and more.
Yes. Marketplace payments are held in escrow until your order is delivered and you confirm receipt. If an order is not delivered or you receive the wrong/damaged goods, you can request a refund before confirming delivery.
Delivery timelines vary by vendor and location. Each product listing shows the estimated delivery window. Most vendors ship within 1–5 business days within Nigeria. Heavy/bulk items may take longer.
Return policies differ by vendor. Each vendor's store page displays their return policy. Generally, items must be reported within 3 days of delivery for damaged/wrong items. Since payment is held in escrow, you can refuse confirmation and request a refund if items don't match the description.
Vendor Onboarding
Register for a free account and choose the Vendor role during registration (or apply from your dashboard). You'll need to complete KYC verification and create your store profile (store name, description, logo, address). After approval, you can list products immediately.
Vendor KYC requires:
- Valid government-issued ID (National ID, Driver's Licence, or Passport)
- CAC certificate or business name registration (for business accounts)
- Bank account details for payouts (account number + bank name)
- Store address proof (for physical stock)
When a buyer confirms delivery of their order, the escrow for that order is released. buildcrex deducts its commission and the net amount is credited to your vendor wallet. You can request a payout to your registered bank account from the vendor wallet dashboard. Payouts are processed within 1–3 business days.
buildcrex charges a percentage commission on each sale. The rate is clearly displayed in your vendor dashboard on each payout. It covers payment processing fees, platform infrastructure, and buyer protection. You are never charged for listings — only on successful sales.
Yes. You can be both a provider (offering services) and a vendor (selling products) simultaneously. Each role has its own dashboard, KYC track, and wallet, but you use the same login credentials.
Once you submit your KYC documents, our team reviews them within 1–3 business days. You'll receive an email notification when your store is approved or if additional information is required.
You can dispute the refund request by providing shipping/delivery evidence (waybill, courier tracking number, delivery confirmation). Our admin team reviews all evidence impartially and makes a final resolution. Always use trackable shipping for this reason.
Disputes
Go to your Jobs or Bookings dashboard, open the relevant job, and click Open Dispute. Describe the issue clearly and attach supporting evidence (photos, videos, chat screenshots). The other party will be notified and asked to respond. Our team will review and resolve within 5 business days.
We aim to resolve all disputes within 5 business days of both parties submitting their evidence. Complex cases may take longer. You can communicate with our admin team directly in the dispute chat.
Yes. If you believe the admin decision was made in error, contact support via our contact form or WhatsApp with your dispute ID and additional evidence. A senior team member will review the case.
Wallet & Withdrawals
Go to your Wallet dashboard and click Request Withdrawal. Enter your bank details and the amount. Our team reviews the request and processes the transfer within 1–3 business days. You'll receive an email confirmation when payment is sent.
Yes, the minimum withdrawal amount is ₦5,000. This ensures transaction fees don't consume small payouts. There is no maximum — you can withdraw your full available balance.
Withdrawals may be rejected if: your bank details are incorrect, your account is under review, there's a pending dispute on your account, or the funds have not yet cleared. You'll receive an email with the reason. Rejected funds are returned to your wallet immediately.
KYC & Verification
KYC (Know Your Customer) verification builds trust and keeps the platform safe. It reduces fraud, ensures providers and vendors are legitimate, and protects clients' funds. All users transacting above a threshold on the platform are required to verify their identity.
KYC documents are reviewed within 1–3 business days. You'll receive an email when your KYC is approved or if we need additional information. Make sure documents are clear, complete, and unexpired to avoid delays.
Yes. buildcrex stores all KYC documents and personal data securely and never shares them with third parties without your consent. Please read our Privacy Policy for full details.
